About S V Vanijya Mahavidyalay

Sardar Vallabhbhai Vanijya Mahavidyalay (S.V.V.M) and the Motilal Nehru Law College under one Umbrella came into existence in 1961 and though a part of the Sardar family was affiliated to the Gujarat University as a self- sustaining institution it was in 1973 that this was bifurcated and the sardar Vallabhbhai Vanijya Mahavidyalay Came into existence as an independent unit. Having started as a Gujarati medium noon college, it later grew to a college with number of classes having students in the English medium. To-day it functions as a Gujarati and English medium college.

The S.V.V.M. is today headed by Prin. Dr. Hitendra H. Vyas, a student and teacher of English Language and Literature. Dr. Vyas brings to his role as a Principal, many years of teaching English Language, and Literature to under-graduate and post-graduate students. A strict disciplinarian and committed teacher Dr. Vyas promises to take S.V.V.M. to great heights.
